Dow Jones Manager, Adverse Media Entities (6-Month Contract) in BARCELONA, Spain

Job Description:

Job Title:Manager, Adverse Media Entities, Risk & Compliance Research (Temporary Role)

About the Role:

Dow Jones Risk & Compliance is a global provider of third-party risk management and regulatory compliance solutions. We deliver data, research tools and services to help our clients meet anti-money laundering, anti-bribery, anti-corruption and economic sanctions regulations and mitigate third-party risk.

In this role you will lead and develop a team of multilingual experts who research, record and update details on companies with adverse media in countries around the world for the Adverse Media Entities (AME) content set within Dow Jones Risk & Compliance. You will report to the Director, Companies Risk Research. This is a 6-month temporary role based in Barcelona.

You Will:

  • Train, support and develop your team to maximize their potential through motivation, coaching, counseling, and delegation

  • Organise and assign tasks to your team, allocating resources appropriately

  • Monitor and evaluate your team’s performance

  • Respond to clients’ questions about AME content

  • Monitor and analyse changes in anti-money laundering regulations

  • Write Due Diligence reports on companies and/or individuals as required and contribute to other projects

  • Collaborate and engage with other departments and support the Director to drive key business initiatives and decisions

  • Contribute to the improvement of our data, workflows and the efficiency of our tools

You Have:

  • Fluency in English and at least one other major European language

  • Understanding of best practises in adverse media screening and monitoring

  • At least one year’s experience as a professional researcher or analyst

  • Proofreading skills and experience in handling large volumes of information

  • Experience managing a team or leading a project

  • Experience explaining data or processes and handling complex clients’ queries

  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, coaching skills

  • An openness to different views and appreciation of team diversity

Preferred:

  • Fluency in additional languages (e.g. Italian, German, Russian)

  • Knowledge of and interest in anti-money laundering regulations

  • Automation skills, such as advanced knowledge of Excel, Macros/VBA programming, Python, HTML and/or SQL

  • Education to a degree level or relevant experience
