The Business Operations function in Factiva is newly created in order to ensure that all business functions are in line with Factiva’s strategic goals. To aid this alignment, Business Operations will demonstrate leadership and functional expertise and communicate the vision of Factiva across all levels. It will effectively steer projects and create streamlined and scalable processes which enable predictable and systematic growth, taking into account the needs of external and internal stakeholders.

The successful candidate will work across a number of internal functions to:

  • Help define, align and communicate strategic priorities, ways of working, and goals, objectives and KPIs

  • Monitor metrics, KPIs and financial data, independently resolve issues as they arise, prioritize key initiatives and strengthening data-driven decision making

  • Create, document and maintain fit-for-purpose and efficient end-to-end business processes

  • Identify improvement opportunities, perform cost-benefit analyses, devise solutions and produce business cases that will improve profitability

  • Oversee a portfolio of projects and work streams, and design and directly manage high-profile, complex programmes

This is a strategic, yet hands-on management role that requires strong analytical and collaboration skills and a track record of delivery with an enthusiasm and passion for technology, business process analysis and all things digital.

Specific requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in professional services (consulting, corporate strategy, finance, technology)

  • Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills as well as the ability to delegate effectively

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to forge strong relationships - being a good business partner is key

  • Demonstrated leadership skills in order to successfully operate with a high degree of natural authority in a matrix organization; at least 5 years of people management experience, and an ability to work across different time zones with large groups of stakeholders

  • Experienced in operations and process redesign, (technology) change and business architecture and governance

  • Working knowledge of content and data delivery

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • A solid level of analytical, strategic and critical thinking and a big picture mentality as the wider business interests precede departmental interests; a proven ability to analyze data, using the data to drive decision making and implement effective solutions

  • High level of versatility and ability to pivot quickly between high-level strategy to operational issues

  • Resilient and able to work through ambiguity

  • Proficient in English

  • Experience with Factiva, Dow Jones services and products and reeporting tools is an advantage
