Dow Jones seeks a smart, news savvy editor for NewsPlus at https://www.dowjones.com/products/newswires/newsplus/ , the news-streaming dashboard for professional customers.
Based in Barcelona, the role is part of a team under a London-based managing editor, with colleagues in London, New York and Hong Kong covering the entire global business day.
In addition to helping to curate the NewsPlus website in European business hours, the job holder will use exceptional news judgement to pull together early business-news briefings that are of high value to professional customers of Dow Jones Newswires and other platforms, including our WSJ City mobile app. The role also includes editing and publishing a range of daily and weekly fixtures to exacting deadlines and helping to produce a newsletter. In addition to strong news judgement, it is essential that candidates have ability to work smartly to meet rolling deadlines, can quickly learn to deploy a range of content management systems, and are able to multi-task effectively while keeping calm under pressure.
Due to the need to publish some content ahead of the start of the business day, candidates will work on a rota basis on an early shift that starts at approximately 4 am Central European Time.
The role is located in our vibrant Barcelona newsroom, where a team of reporters and editors are focused on the delivery of fast-paced, real-time news from around Europe. The wider office has over 300 employees focused on a range of other professional products.
Short-listed applicants will be expected to complete a short test under deadline, after which final interviews will be held with the managing editor.
